Abstract

This paper examines the commercial conduct and consignment agreements between Galih Batik, a batik and souvenir center in Yogyakarta, from the standpoint of Islamic business ethics. This field investigation utilized a qualitative technique. We gathered the data through interviews with resellers, suppliers, courier service and logistics organizations involved in Galih Batik's operations, as well as through observation and documentation. The findings reveal that Galih Batik demonstrated commendable business conduct in accordance with Islamic business norms. It is noteworthy that the retail mall prioritized innovative business leadership and effectively implemented a consignment system with its suppliers. Furthermore, both sides participated in mutually advantageous business collaboration. Galih Batik upheld the vendor's rights and responsibilities. This study asserts that corporate social responsibility and trust between companies and their suppliers are crucial factors in maintaining a successful business partnership.
